Beating the queues: timing and fast tracks

When to arrive, which parks need a fast track, and which never do.

Queues in Dubai parks follow three rules: weekends are Saturday and Sunday, school holidays in the UAE and the Gulf fill the parks with families, and December to February plus the Eid weeks are peak for everyone.

Arrive at opening. Every park is quietest in the first ninety minutes; do the headline rides first and the shows after lunch. Water parks empty out from 4 pm when families leave for dinner, which is the best time for the big slides.

Fast tracks: worth buying at Motiongate and IMG on any weekend or holiday date, where the top coasters run 45 to 90-minute waits. Rarely worth it at water parks, where the queue is mostly the climb. Not needed at Ski Dubai, the Museum of the Future or the Frame, which are timed-entry anyway.

Burj Khalifa: the queue is at security, not the lift. A timed ticket for a weekday morning gets you up in fifteen minutes; a sunset slot on a Saturday can take an hour, fast track or not.

If you tell us your dates we will say plainly which fast tracks to buy and which to skip.
